Historical Moster

From Christian law in 1024 to Landslov in 1274

A digital display of the lecture with court historian Jørn Øyrehagen Sunde. The lecture was held in Moster Gamle Kyrkje on Saturday 3 June during the 2023 Mostradagane. In this talk, he links the Christian right to the development of the law in the following year.

From Christian law in 1024 to a value clause in the Basic Law in 2012

At the Moster seminar on June 6, 2021, we had a visit from law professor Ola Mestad, who drew up the long lines for us with values from 1024, 1536, 1814 and 2012.

The lecture was beautifully framed by the talented Ingeborg Anglevik from Moster!

Tickets of Aunty Old Church on a postcard. Truleg teke in 1916.
This ticket of Aunty Old Church is made in 1971 in connection with a publication in art history by Johannes Hjelland. The church has many gongs of ours under restoration. This is what he looked like before he was upattkalka. Kyrkja is here seen from the southeast with Vetahaugen in the background.

The 900th anniversary at Moster in 1924!

In 1924, there was a great celebration of 900th anniversary that the Christian court was established at Mostratinget in 1024, with the visit of King Haakon and some 8,000 visitors to Moster. “Krossen på Vetahaugen” stands again as a memorial after this anniversary.

Here are enjoyable depictions and details of the royal visit, royal dinner, meetings with locals and King Haakon's walk up to Vetahaugen and the new memorial.
